Golfing on the Main Line

otable country clubs and golf clubs are a way of life on the Main Line. All of the Main Line clubs are private. Memberships become available from time to time for patient individuals on the waiting list. Merion Golf Club a champion level course is located in Ardmore. Officially certified as a National Historic Landmark, Merion's classic clubhouse was designed by acclaimed Victorian architect Frank Furness in 1896. The prestigious Merion Cricket Club was established in 1888 in Haverford. Overbrook Golf Club is situated on 128 acres of magnificent rolling countryside in Bryn Mawr. The Philadelphia Country Club is a premier country club located in Gladwyne. Radnor Valley Country Club, located in Villanova, is one of the oldest family clubs in the area. St. David's Golf Club, dates back to the early 1890's when it was the St. David's Cricket Club. Glenhardie Country Club is an executive nine hole course with swimming and,tennis in Wayne. White Manor Country Club is situated on 165 acres of magnificent rolling countryside in Malvern. Chester Valley Golf Club is a challenging target golf course located in Malvern. The lush rolling hills and picturesque views of Malvern are home to the Main Line's newest addition, Applebrook Golf Club.

Olde Course and Karakung course. Opened in 1916, this old course is the premier blue-collar golf experience in the metro Philadelphia area. The shorter Karakung "sister" course was built in the late 1920s.

Juniata Golf Club

1935 Ed Ault design. The starter reserves tee times for weekends and holidays only. The fairways are fairly open, and the greens are small and of moderate speed. There is water that comes into play four times on this flat course.

This narrow course features small, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes, so be sure to have an extra ball or two in your bag prior to teeing off on the course.

This hilly course features greens that are medium in size and speed. The front nine is open, while the back nine is tight. There is water that comes into play on eight holes.
