Villanova

illanova straddles Lower Merion Township of Montgomery County and Radnor Township of Delaware County. The most notable feature of Villanova, other than its wonderful homes, is Villanova University, which gave the community its name.

Villanova University is the oldest and largest Catholic University in Pennsylvania. The beautiful campus sits on 254 acres in the heart of the Main Line.

Other points of interest include Appleford Parsons Banks Arboretum. The landscape design was created in the 1920s by landscape architect Thomas Sears. The mansion is available for private parties and contains the furniture and collections of Lewis and Anabel Parsons. The arboretum is a panoply of a series of formal gardens, streams, woods and stone walls.

Another beautiful park located in Villanova and in Newtown Square is The Willows. Situated at the end of a long, winding driveway, The Willows, a three-story mansion located on 47 acres that was purchased by Radnor Township in 1973. This magnificent setting is a favorite for private parties. The estate has a magnificent panorama of tall, stately trees, flowering plants and a picturesque lake with elegant fountains.
