Wynnewood

ynnewood is a community located in Lower Merion and Haverford Townships. Its name is in honor of Dr. Thomas Wynne, William Penn's Physician. Penn Wynne and Penn Valley share the mailing address of Wynnewood.

Wynnewood is a beautiful residential community with modern and traditional homes and neighborhood parks. Shortridge Memorial Park is a small park where the Indian Creek flows. South Ardmore Park provides recreational amenities for area residents. Clusters of shopping centers are found throughout the community.

Wynnewood is home to many fine institutions. Established in 1860, Lankenau Hospital is a leader in clinical care, teaching and research. St. Charles Borromeo Seminary was established in 1838 to educate Catholic men the Roman Catholic priesthood. Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University is committed to providing Graduate Level Theological training. Friends Central, a highly regarded private Quaker school, is located on City Line Avenue. The Kaiserman Branch of the Jewish Community Center is a cultural and educational center for the Main Line Jewish community.
